View Full Version : If you had Z to yourself for two minutes, what would you say to her?

(Except for I love you, of course. Please leave all I love yous at home. And this is assuming she knows much English already. Or you speak Mandarin. Whatever.)
Okay, I'll kick things off:
TJR: I'd really like it if you come to Manila. The people there love you. Yeah. Well, I know another guy who really likes you, and we could show you around the Metropolis and protect you from any thugs who might wanna...uhrm..you know.
You look angelic, you know. Even angelic is too weak a word to describe you.
I'd really appreciate it if you visited ZFilms. :D We have such a loyal fanbase there.
Well, gotta go, Z. My two minutes are almost up. Take care of yourself. We, your fans, will always be here for you, myself included.
Next!

Hello Z. I would like you to know that you have inspired so many people to become better and to be all they can be. You are an inspiration, both in the characters you play and the human being that you are.
The world knows you from what they see on the outside, but please understand that your fans love you for whom you are on the inside. Many of us have never thought someone like you can even exist. We are so very fortunate to know you now, in these troubled times. You give us comfort, and your beauty shines from the heart and into the hearts of many.
Like Chen Wei, you inspire, like Zhao Di you make us weep, like Jiao Long you make us think, like Hu Li you make us gasp. You are every emotion and a thousand more that we wait for you to portray. As an actress, you are without equal. Thank you for the gift you share that makes us examine ourselves.
We will always support you in every decision you make and you can count on us to always defend your name and honor wherever and whenever you need us most.
Lastly, I hope you don't mind that many of of your fans give money to charity in your name. It so honors us to do this for you.

...somehow I knew zM was gonna say that.....
Hey Tina, I bet Z would love to dance with you. Did ya see her dancing on the 2k celebrations? Wow. Too bad I've got two left feet.
Talent and beauty. In one.
And boy...she had quite a lovely voice!
"From the moment I saw you, all those years ago, a day hasn't gone by when I haven't thought of you. And now that I'm close to you again, I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you makes my stomach turn over - my mouth goes dry. I feel dizzy. I can't breathe. I'm haunted by the feeling you should never have given me. My heart is beating, hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me. What can I do? I will do anything you ask...Are you suffering as much as I am?"
(bash this SW buff, please! Can't help it: that how I really feel. She never kissed me, of course. If she did you guys would mutilate me.)

Then I’d lick her some more.

In reality, I'll just be dropping by intermittently for a while. Real life kinda caught up with me.
Anyways, in answer to the question posed in the title...
"Heya, totally over the moon to meet you. My name's Roger. :)"
Thinking that she would appreciate to be treated as a normal person and not as a star... :) Of course, I would ask if she would like to go for dinner, or something, but more than likely, she'll be smart enough to turn me down. (And save me from embarrassment of fainting if she said yes)

hi rogerkauh - theres lots of ziyi fans in new zealand now.
But it is not actually because of her movies - we kind of all knew about them and thought she was good, but we all have become more interested because she is Gaz's favourite actress.
and also he went to real effort to despell rumor about being seen with her, which we all thought was very unusual because it would be no big deal here( he knows lots of people in that industry - so - so what? ) - we would just be more interested in what type of girl can trap his attentions at the start..............but
I must say, i really do like Ziyi now, so i am thankful that i have been drawn here. I want to know more and more about this unique girl!
Gaz..............yes, you know,
i hope you don't mind me talking a bout you?
Zhang ziyi - the offer is there - we could have such a fun time!
Wellington is not a very busy place buty there is lots of shopping ot be done - it needs to be conquered properlly.
Jedi rain Jin -with us - we wouldn't be talking for two minutes - we would all be talking non-stop for at least four hours.................
we would have to talk about shopping, boys..........the usual girl stuff.
Shadow - you are right there - first criteria of the girls -
make sure the man has a visa card!
Brainchild - i saw a jar jar binks puppet today, and its tongue pokes out when you squeeze him i thought of you.........
Vanhulst - where are you?????

Damn, this means I'll strike out twice.
1. Don't have a Visa :( Only an Amex :)
2. I'd prefer to be a Sith Lord than a Jedi. They seem to have more fun :D
Anyways, like I said. Hopefully she'll turn me down, so I don't have to embarrass myself. ;)
Roge :)
the_jedi_rainjin
September 22nd, 2002, 12:55 AM
Roger: I'd like to clarify this...Sith Lords don't have that much fun compared to a Padawan. They usually hide in the shadows and rarely venture out to do what they want. They're like puppets with red sabers, in a way. We Padawans get to be brash and reckless. Sure, we get scolded, but that's part of the fun.
huli007: Gaz seems to have a lot of fans there, you in particular. Thanks for the tips. I remember turning down a "fan's" offer to go out. Now I am indebted to them. I usually ignore the audience, but now, I have learned to appreciate them.
And believe me, two minutes is already too long for someone called Zi. Oh well, she is still a girl, and you girls know this better than I do, even if I am studying to become a Jedi.
Mind tricks only work on the weak minded.
And BTW, you look like Anna K?
Gaz
September 22nd, 2002, 03:58 AM
jedi: i think huli007 is in fact a dedicated "vanhulst" fan more so than she is of me, but i do have alot of fans. Check out what she said about Anna K, on that zz 100th sexiest woman thread.
rogerkauh: i think if it came to the crunch, we could oraganise a visa card for you - we have our ways......................
Huli007: i am actually flattered,
i learn alot when people comment on action/effect of things i say especially on the radio or tv.
I guess i am a bit defensive of ZZ, because i would not want to be the one to make her cry, i am Zhangster after all.
Shadow: i think wearing a suit of armour might also be a good idea.

Ah ha! You Jedis and padawans always fall for our cunning plans :)
You see, that's what we portray. But the nice thing about a Sith lord is we get to get other people to do the work for us and we get to sit back in our comfy place and worzhip Z all the time ;) Of course, we have to make an occasional trip out just for appearances, but usually that's our clone ;) So long as we are far enough up the chain of command, we don't even get scolded. We do the scolding ;)We just let you think you are doing the right thing, but really we are controlling everything from afar. We even let you think you win in the end ;) *LOL*
Nothing wrong with a red saber. It'll match my car :)
Okies, enough about the off topic Star Wars...
As for the Visa, that's OK, think I can cope with my Amex ;)

I read somewhere, before she filmed TRH she lived in the village as her character would. Working and COOKING, and learning how the villagers lived so she could be authentic. I bet she learned to cook many of the local dishes.
She probably eats a lot of Top Raman and miso soup type stuff. She’s thin as a eel and has a good complexion...so she obviously doesn’t eat a lot of junk like brownies, burgers, chocolate bars, and twinkies. Maybe they don’t have any junk type food in PRC. You can tell by looking at her she eats healthy.
She probably can afford someone to cook for her now.

She looks hungry. I got the impression reading about her, that she can pack it away. Better bring the VISA.
Probably orders everything in the house and takes one bite of each...packs away all of the meat dishes...all the deserts. Probably goes out to eat like that once a year.
She looks pretty hard for an actress. Probably spends a lotta time at the spa. Beijing 24-hour fitness. Exerbike in her trailer...stairstepper for her buns. Probably eats rice and tea when she’s working to stay fit. She doesn’t look like a runner.

One of the down sides to takeing anyone out who is a public figure, is the need to be able to protect them ( correctly )and to be aware that peace and quiet changes very dramatically.
An up side, is this means one cannot drink alcohol or even, get too full eating,
could become very healthy, fit and skinny dateing ZZ.
I bet, that if a handycam was on hand, it would be ZZ having the fun with it.

Gosh, I'd go broke and withdraw my life savings for a private day with her!
In fact, I'd like to go wherever she goes. Share the laughter, wipe the tears, see her smile....
.....and SLICE, DICE, and DISMEMBER any detractor, reporter, or basher who gets too damned far.

If you had Z to yourself for two entire minutes, would you even be able to utter any word at all???

huli007
September 30th, 2002, 02:56 AM
i want to answer this one since i have not had the chance to talk about Gaz yet.
Most people here know who Gaz is here, he is sort of famous
Zhoa di and I know him firstly through his Band www.Spacialverb.com
but also because we all like the bands that are on WWW.sister.co.jp/english.
We all have alot of friends in common, and are fans in particular
of a chinese rock band, www.hangonthebox.com
He told everyone in New Zealand that counts, on radio
about this website and that he a fan of zhang ziyi
so we all came here, we are only the ones that have signed up
there is thousands more that must have visted here as guests.
Gaz and Zhoa di, anything to add?
ps: Shannon, maybe you should tell them how know gaz
krepta17
September 30th, 2002, 03:12 AM
Wow, it's interesting how Gaz brought you all here.
I was wondering because I read an old post from Gaz stating that Zhao di looks a lot like ZZ.
shannon
September 30th, 2002, 03:22 AM
Zhoa di, looks like.....................Zhao di.
she has the braids and very similiar face features
( oh, and a red jacket that she drags around like a security blanket ).
The girls from NewZealand were all out to dinner together last night, we practised our puffy cheeks.
Gaz
September 30th, 2002, 04:29 AM
Shannon: did you get the puffy cheeks right?
did anyone take photo's?
the_jedi_rainjin
September 30th, 2002, 04:34 AM
lol
I'd like to see that: Z and all her NZ fans puffing cheeks for the camera.
huli and shannon, my favorite Z character ever is Zhao Di, so imagine my surprise and delight when someone registered her name as Zhao Di (a bit mispelled but I believe it was intentional).
Up to now, I still dream of her: Zhao DI, Z in the film. Not so much about Z, but Zhao Di.
Keep on puffing!

I love it! I love it! I love it!
You guys and gals are truly great, and this has become entertainging meeting you people and becoming friends here. Someday I'd like to take a trip to New Z-land and meet all of you. That would be fun.
Anyway, my intention of this post was to comment on the 'puffy cheeks' thing. It is so damn cute that you girls are actually practicing puffing your cheeks out to match those cheeks seen in the video of Ziyi! :D That is hardcore dedication right there...
I'm sure Ziyi would be busting her gut laughing right now if she knew that, but she would be laughing and smiling because it's great to have fans like all of you :D
And I'm with the Gaz man on this one, please take pictures of the 'puffy cheeks'. Hahaha! That is funny in itself just to say that

we hadn't even thought of a camera
I got such a headache, from laughing and makeing puffy cheeks
you can imagine how sore our faces were the next day!!!!!!!
we all ate far too much too- so we diet this week!
Shannon lost one of her contact lens doing "puffy cheeks"
we think it must have fallen into her soup.

Dear Z,
In this short time I have, I cannot possibly express the feelings and wishes that I carry in my heart, for you, as a person of beauty; talent, and strength of character; and the thanks for the inspiration you have provided through your films.
What I would rather do, is take the words of each and every one of your devoted fans; every expression of love; gratitude; admiration; thanks -- and condense them; distill them into only a few words of apparent simplicity, but of the deepest meaning.
“We love You, Z.”
Let these words wrap around your heart, as an invisible shield; a moat; a satin shawl that you can carry with you, wherever you journey takes you.
And should you ever at times of sadness; at times of uncertainty; at times of solitude - ever shed a tear – let the tear fall upon these words as a raindrop falls upon a bud of a rose, and brings it to life.
Let the tear release each word of thanks; each word of admiration; each word of gratitude; each word of love -- in waves of a warming glow, that fills your heart, and your soul, and soothes the ripples of the pain that troubles you.
It is my humblest wish, that perhaps we, your devoted fans, may at least in some small way, so return a part of the Light you have bestowed upon our hearts.
With Love,
CastleGuard

Castleguard,
Your a legend!
princessmoonbeam
October 1st, 2002, 01:15 AM
castleguard, you can say all that in two minutes?
CastleGuard
October 1st, 2002, 02:06 AM
Actually, princessmoonbeam, it would take me 1 min. and 15 sec.
I have reserved 45 sec. for the initial stuttering, dizzy spells, and other unforeseeable phenomena that may overtake me.
Of course there is also very good chance…I won’t get a single word out. Hence I will also have all this written on a card, which, if necessary, I hope to have sufficient wits about me, to be able to hand over to her on my way down to the floor, before everything goes dim.
There is also a possibility that all I might be able to muster is the “puffy cheeks” impression – which will of course result in my quick, unwilling, and forced departure from the premises.
On second thought…forget that.
Whatever the case…two minutes with Z would be truly memorable.

haha give Z a card with everything you're trying to say! For a great poet like CG, Z would be in a flutter after reading it too.
haha my card wouldn't even get to Z.
First of all, my hand would seize up and and the only way to get the card would be to cut my hand off.
Second, if they did get the card out of my hand, the card would be illegible. The "sweaty palms" syndrome would wreak havoc with the ink on the card. :D

1) you got to catch me first , na-na-na-na
2) it will cost you more ice cream that you can even dream of
3) if you can't do a "puffy cheeks" , then i won't even consider talking to you
4) i don't really look like ziyi herself, more just "zhao di after she ate all the dumplings" as my friends say.

hahaha! my sides are aching with laughter!
okay, Zhoa Di, you're gonna have to run very fast--coz' this Jedi has force-speed!
You like ice cream that much? Well, okay then, so long as we have dumplings afterwards. (there it is again! the relentless quest for dumplings!)
I think its going to be a great day when all true Z fans unite and meet Z, sort of a lunging around sort-of-thing. No press, no thugs...just the loyal ones and Z herself.

For 2 minutes? I'd say a lot in 2 minutes!
Or more like...
Me: How are you?
Of course she'd reply in her broken English but she's really trying hard and I've seen it. That proves she's trying to learn English, although it's practically the hardest language you can learn if you're not a native speaker.
I'd then say: I love all your movies. You're very talented!
She'd probably say Thank You and that would be great. If there was any other time left I'd only give her compliments and maybe ask: "Do you think we look alike?" :agree:
That's pretty much it. There's got to be more than that but I'd be speechless if I met her.
Gou? I hate that name. It makes me puke! Too bad you're named Gou. You'll be the first to feel my sword today.

BootlegZiyi, by the time you get to meet Ziyi, I bet she's speaking English like it were her own native language. Hey, baby. You think you look pretty good and I think so too.
Listen to me for a minute or two, and I’ll tell you why I think you think you’ll like having a friend like me.
I’m on your side, even when you‘re wrong. Call out my name and you won’t wait long. I’ll never argue, cuz you’ll never be wrong. I may not sing, but I’ll write you a song. You may not eat much, but I can cook anything, American, French, Chinese and such. I’ll boil your rice and steep your tea. I’ll pick you up when you fall, in service I’ll give you my all.
If you want a gent, I’ll be heaven-sent, though I may not look sharp, I’ll look as good as I can...maybe just pretty good. I won’t wear a dress, but I may wear a tie, and I’ll always tell you when you ask why.
I’ll lick up your tears, assuage all your fears. I’ll hide you from hate, and if it be our fate, I’ll drive you to work and pick you up late.
I don’t want any kids, but I’ll father your babes, and I’ll only collect at your lover’s rate.
What more could you ask, in a friend or a mate. If you only want a little of that, I’ll make you my date. I’ll meet your mom, but I won’t take any of her crap.

Well, after stuttering and stammering and shaking in my shoes in awe of her for at least a minute and a half, I would try to squeak out my thoughts about what an honor and a privilege and a fulfillment of my dreams it was to meet her.
I would then drop to my knees Wayne and Garth style and say, "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy..."
A smoother, more Pierce Brosnan version of me would go to shake her hand, but gently kiss it instead and ask her where she'd like to go for dinner and perhaps a walk afterwards. But then that would take longer than two minutes. But if I was anything like Brosnan I'm sure I could get more than 2 minutes of her time.
I would kinda like to know what one thing she would like to do, perhaps adventurous, or even not, that she's always wanted to do, but never has. Z has been practically everywhere and been able to do so many things, it would be interesting to know what is on her dream list of things to do. Perhaps winning an Oscar, but more importantly, something of a more personal nature.
There was an interview recently with Matt Damon where he said that so many actors wear themselves out trying so hard to win the coveted Oscar, but he said that even though he did, he still felt empty inside. Before he realized there's more to life than winning awards. It's nice to aim high and achieve much as he and Z have done, but there are more important things in life still.
