The Zhang Ziyi Films Foundation continues its work this year in supporting worthy educational causes for the people of China. Although the economy and contributions are down, we have managed to scrape togther enough funds to send 5,000 RMB to the Amity Foundation in Nanjing, in support of their Project Torch, which is an excellent program designed to help deserving students meet their educational needs and goals.

One of the really cool programs that Operation Torch supports is the restoration and refurbishment of dilapidated old school houses that dot the rural countryside in Yunnan, Guizhou, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, and Shaanxi.

Anyone that ever saw The Road Home can identify with the tragedy of old Chinese school houses that have fallen into disrepair, and this year, the Zhang Ziyi Films Foundation is contributing $5,000 RMB toward Project Torch to help fix them up and bring other vital student services assistance to the children that desperately need these facilities.
I can just see Zhao Di smiling already.

they bring them up to standard by first burning those old fire-traps down?
They were quaint, but you’ll have to admit, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIEISH and microchip technicians are not going to come from those schools.
Maybe more movie directors...but that’s about something else.
Are you making the donation in Zhao Di’s name? That would be sweet.

Yay! This is cool. Now if only we could get to Zhao Di to stitch us up one of the lucky red banners.:D
I think it's cool that we got so much given that Z had no movies playing this past year.

I am very proud of this website and each member, moderators, and administrators.
I am glad that we are able to share the joy and love that Ziyi has given us in our lives, with others who are less fortunate than us.
Virgule ... I am honored to be a moderator in this site, but most of all I am honored to be your friend..
Keep up the great work everyone...

You‘re enthusiastically immoderate. At times immodest, too. What’s up. Even Nights made a pass at your rig...that should disqualify you outright?

Here are some images of the people that are affected by the contributions YOU make as a sponsoring member of the ZZFF. Students, just like you, who have needs, just like you.
Students-Helping-Students. Show me any fanclub in the world that does good works like this in the name of the person of our mutual affections - Ms. Zhang Ziyi.
I am so very, very proud of you all :crying:, and so is Zhao Di.

Amity has many programs that help the rural peasantry of China. One really interesting project is providing business micro-loans to women for the purpose of creating an entrepreneural class.
Is that Zhao Di I see?

A letter of appreciation for all those that contributed and support this site financially. The staff of the Nanjing Office of The Amity Foundation appreciates, in writing, your help. They specifically express their gratitude to Ms. Zhang Ziyi herself, for even in this city, her name is recognized as an internationally famous film star.

I could not be more proud, and I am sure when Ziyi herself reads this letter, her pride in you all will only be exceeded by our willingness to help the poor students of China.

Hopefully, this will show the people in China to appreciate the talent and hardwork that Ziyi puts on each of her work.

I'm also known as Charlie, the guy on the speakerphone. My Angels have been naughty lately - guilty of bad acting - so I fired them all and hired Ziyi instead.

Here's a followup of what's happening with our charitable support of Project Torch, courtesy of the Amity Foundation. If you recall, Project Torch is an effort to rebuild the old dilapidated school houses found across China - Just like Zhao Di did.
The photo shows the many volunteers that do this work - that we support - with our donations to the Zhang Ziyi Films Foundation.

Each one of these fine folks are students - just like you - who understand the value of building and refurbishing old schools for use by the next generation. I say, they're the ones who deserve the recognition.

I have seen this in practice and your contribution on behalf of Zhang Ziyi being utilised for the benefit of those it was directed to help.
This is a great cause and I was happily surprised
Not only have you been thoughtful and responsible in your action
you have illustrated the influence of Zhang ziyi, as embassador as a doer of good things.
However, the ultimate flattery is that there are others
that claim this action for their own credentials
Testimony to your good deeds, is that you have remained humble in that knowledge
You have a heart of gold Virgule

 In my experience, the gifts we send out are investments in our own future. One way or another, it comes back a thousand times over. Zhang Ziyi is a vehicle for good in the world. She inspires many, and in this capacity, inspires us to invest in the future.
These gifts come back to the giver, on wings of eagles.
So you see Shannon, there is a selfish side to this activity, but not for the notoriety. It is the certainty that blessings come out of the venture that are beyond mere counting.
