Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
Member Jamiii3 has crafted a really nice webpage that brings together a number of fan created video efforts, including his really good Purple ButterFly trailer that looks even better than the original.

Check it out!

http://www.zhangziyifilms.com/fanvideo/fanfilmz.html

Note that we are reserving a future section for FULL BLOWN fan created video movie productions, because we know technology is headed that way and its only a matter of time before computers are powerful enough (if not already) to handle the entire movie making process end-to-end in a completely digital realm.

Very nicely done, jamiii3. Beautiful webpage - clear, pristine, precise.

A fitting addition to our admiration of Z.

when Z looks great...it must be good.

I like that blu-duotone effect. Very Noice.

It shall be my Z-films home page.

YAY!!!
It's up! Virgule, thanks for posting this page on ziyifilms. I'm honored to have created something for this site.

Thanks for everyone's kind words. I'm not super web techy guy, so it's nothing fancy and doesn't use any flash or java scripting stuff. But I wanted to make it as nice and clean as I possibly could. Anyways, thanks again for letting me contribute to this site once again.

I've just wrapped up writing a short screenplay and am in the middle of casting, getting a producer, a musician, and some permissions that I need. But if and when everything is in place I'll start shooting. Of course one of the characters must be a Z lookalike!! If this thing ever gets finished I'll be adding it to this page.

I'm afraid not. Sorry to disappoint. :crying:
It's just a really quick drama-type of flick. Nothing shmancy... It'll be shot just like everything else I've done. We're talkin' NO-budget here. :(

The name of the short is Boca Raton. Yeah...not very Chinesey I know. But it's been an idea that I've wanted to do for a little while and I wanted an asian for the female lead. What better than to look for a Z knock-off.

I'd love it if you were able to do a screentest but I don't think you'd want to travel all the way to SF just for that. Especially since it's a non-paying gig. However, everyone that helps out gets a copy of the movie. Also, the last one I did was actually screened in a short film gathering in Vancouver, B.C. and is still up on ifilm.

Ah you're right. I used to do some filmmaking of my own. I made a little film project and I have it on tape. It's not the best work I've ever done but I directed it and starred in it; it's called "Alone At Last", it was about the joy of being alone. Most of my friends didn't get it  I should do more filmmaking, it brings out a creative side that I never thought I had.

Best of all...pretty much anything you produce could be thrown up here since you're the one and only bootleg! :D

I'm never in any of the stuff I shoot. Wouldn't want to scare any of my fellow board members here or worst yet, break the camera!! Ha ha ha.

I should make more films, or at least act in most of them :D
I wish I could put the film on computer, since it's on VHS :(

to BOCA RATON 2045. For sure you’ll get invited to Sundance. You can use the marketing for 2046...if there ever is any.

hey! haha the ifilm link has an ad for CTHD the game.

haha I saw that person flash on that single frame. I thought it was a man at first, but I guess not. I was going to say that maybe the clock should be given to Z so she could put it in that antique collection in the house... but I guess not.:D

we need someone to come up with a 3d digital vision of Z. Then we can make our own Z-films...on our own budget...using a homegrown script.

Jamiii, you got a 3d rendering program?

I am currently making a Sweet Child O Mine featuring Ziyi video. It is taking me forever because I am using Windows movie maker and it crashed every minute or so.

What do you guys use and how much does it cost?

Yeah, Movie Maker is pretty unstable and definitely NOT ideal. It's great if you just want to capture footage...but any editing should be done on something else.

I pretty much primarly use Adobe Premiere. It retails for $699 but you can usually find it cheaper. Sometimes you can find a great deal on Ebay. Premiere may be a little overkill so another really good entry level software package is Pinnacle Studio. There's a few different packages out there depending on what you're needs are (some come with internal hardware, some with external capture devices) but if you just want to buy the software alone I think it retails for about $80.

You can get Premiere cheap (well not that cheap) if you can get the Academic Version. I tried Movie Maker once and I really hated it.

This ZZ website is awesome. I've been visiting off/on and there's always informative updates of articles and of course beautiful Zhang Ziyi herself. Keep up with the good works.
