This is a charming little website: http://www.angrylittlegirls.com Put up by an asian american actress, Lela Lee. She plays Jodi Chang on the SciFi channel TV show "Tremors the series".
Anyway, if you care to see what her point of view is about the ABC experience, she will be appearing in an Asian/American film premiering in Washington DC tomorrow: http://www.ziyifilms.com/zpics/asianamerica.pdf

I HATE GETTING OLD. I'm turning 22 in couple of months, I haven't graduated college yet, and I'm so lonely in the city!!! I have no damn friends here! And I dont wanna meet weird crack heads/freaks/rude people! so what DO I do all day? Go to class, and STAY HOME!!!!
my life is miserable.
Does nothing to dispel my belief that Asian girls are smarter than everybody else and madder than hell about everything. Angry posts outnumber the happy posts by 3-2-1.

Oh!! It's Angry Little Asian Girl!! When I saw the title, it reminded me of her...and look, so it is.
I used to read the comic strips regularly... :agree:

I was introduced to the Angry Little Asian Girl comics a while ago. I love them; they're angry, depressed, crazy, and disenchanted. That's what I like about those characters. I of course like the angry girl Kim, the gloomy girl is a bit depressing.

"Asian girls are smarter than everybody else and madder than hell about everything. "
I'm not too sure about that second part. Z seems like a happy and well adjusted girl. She doesn't carry around a bitchy and "mad as Hell about everything" attitude.

solid.
If there was something biting her bottom... she might not let on. I expect there may be some problems.
That’s the thing about angry people...sometimes they express anger in odd ways. Like yelling at reporters. Keeping to themselves. Or, some of them quietly get sick.
I wanna think she’s doing just fine.
I don’t know that many Asian girls...the ones I do know are all pissed.

I'm not always the "angry asian girl", I'm mostly optimistic. If I'm angry about something, I'll keep away from the Green Destiny sword and away from bars
I don't think ALL Asians are angry... well, maybe the Asians that have been discriminated against.

One lead follows another. I've seen this site before (courtesy of the one who said she used to read the comic strips :D)
I'm not sure that it represents most Asian girls as angry 9well, those who i know aren't) but...for anyone looking for a good read, I'd give them this site. SOmetimes the characters are most like my younger sister (especially when she's really pissed). But don't take it to mean that all Asian girls are angry..on the contrary, I think most Asian girls would prefer to be happy than angry (who doesn't?)

I can't even imagine Z yelling at reporters. If I were one, she'd be way too cute. I'd roll up in a ball and start giggling. I think that's only because I have no idea what's she's saying, but it sure sounds SOOOO CUTE.
I think that's why she can get physical with reporters. She kicks them where the sun doesn't shine to reinforce her anger. That's when you need to take her seriously - with sword in hand executing a flying side kick.
Okay, you've got my attention.....

Neither can I. I mean ever. The Cuteone is too cool to let loose her temper in public. Maybe a little frown, or replacing a sunny smile with a disdainful look upon hearing a question that was asked intentionally to poke into her privacy, but she'll never yell at reporters. Even the trashiest newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong have yet to accuse her of yelling at reporters during a press junket or something, because, if they did, other journalists present at the function would have refuted it before Ziyi would. Believe me, those HK tabloidish papers and mags never let pass an opportunity to trash their competitors for the world.
By the way, I stumbled on a quote of Ziyi's posted on a Chinese-language forum by one of her numerous fans without giving the W's and H, except Z's name, as required in journalism. It goes like this:
"When I was working in the United states for a movie shoot, the director heaped praises on me everyday. If you can't keep the cool, it's very easy to forget who you really are. It's so easy to lose oneself in success, especially the girls, becoming light-headed as the subject of compliments and pampering. It seems many people think I am a very smart person and I always have everything well planned myself. It's actually not true. I'm not that smart. Quite often I have no idea what to do next. I think my strongest suit is I know who I am, and I won't be so hot-headed as to lose my mind. I won't lose myself in elation because I'm on the cover of Time magazine or the New York Times runs a full-page story about me. As long as you can think through all this, you won't lose sleep at night because of the hype. This is probably something I was born with."
I was all smile by myself when I read this earlier today.:D

I'd probably be cheering the cute one on, while she's yelling at reporters. :yahoo: But she would probably sound more like "squeeking" rather than yelling..
I could just imagine the reporters' faces, as if to say "uuuuhhh, why does she sound like a mice?" Then they will probably look at each other to exchange notes and say
Reporter1 : "how did you spell squeek, is it with an squaekkk or squiek?"
Reporter2: "I spelled it like geek, as in squeek".
While the HK tabloids are in a panic trying to send their best investigative reporter to decipher her squeeking, cause they think that it really is some kind of high frequency secret miliatry code used by Chinese Intelligence. They look for hidden messages that might tell them how she and the rest of Mainland Chinese actress's plan to take over Hollywood from the Jews.
In the mean time, on the corner you see Ling and the rest of the team with this look :ohman:on their faces.
Saying to themselves, "well, at least she's being keeped entertained and not bored".

and thats a message for us all.
The HK press is interesting...they can get very volitile amongest thier industry-selves. Theres an idea for a movie.........maybe we can Get ZManiac and Shadow to be journalists ( in HK ) in our next movie. A bit of kung fu, abit of "24".........and could even camio the cuteone herself:D
