Coming to a television screen near you - real soon. The space world is all abuzz about unofficial announcements and reported rumors of an imminent Chinese manned space launch - probably this month and maybe as soon as next week.
Taikonauts, aka yuhangyuan, or travelers of the universe Article - click here (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031006/ap_on_re_as/china_space_031006065744)
The Chinese are staying tight lipped, in case things go wrong and it can all be denied, but if things go right, it will be history in the making.
You can bet Ziyi would be so proud of her country.

I read that earlier today. If the mission is a success, the government will be strutting all over the place. If not, they'll sweep the debris under the rug so to speak.
I hope it is a safe and successful mission for the crew's sake and for the Chinese people, not the totalitarian government's. I love the people, not the government.
Chinese have flown in the past on some Russian space flights, but a first for them on their own rocket and capsule would certainly be interesting. I hope it will be a successful flight.

our high-tek space junk.
They’ll bring it back and make barrista carts out of it. Sell it back to us at a proffit. Ruskee stuff, too...but ours is the primo stuff.

It is reported that the taikonauts will be bringing Chinese food with them. The real thing - authentic kung pao chicken and shredded pork with garlic sauce. Green tea as well.
Did anyone tell them there is no gravity up there?
I think they're going up to open the first Chinese restaurant on the international space station. That way, they can beat McDonalds, who is sending Ronald McDonald up next year in a bid to send up the first space clown.

Congratulations to the people of China for their historic manned launch of a rocket into space. The courage it takes to pull off such an intrepid feat by such a young space program is admirable.
As we Americans can only observe from long experience, we promise you tears, sweat and glory.

that's awesome...
I heard today (not sure if it's true or not) that Australia was thinking about a space mission but they're not going to televise it in case something goes wrong!?! now that's confidence!
