Quentin Tarantino is on the verge of fulfilling his lifelong ambition to run his own cinema.
The Kill Bill writer-director is negotiating to lease the vacant King Hing cinema in Los Angeles’ Chinatown district and plans to show the kinds of films he loves – Asian martial arts films, spaghetti Westerns and 1970s blaxploitation films, reports Variety.
Tarantino also plans to restore the hundreds of old Chinese language films in storage at the cinema and show them, too, along with films from his expansive library.
Tarantino grew up-watching old Chinese martial arts films at the 425-seat King Hing, which stopped showing films in the mid-’90s and was the last of the three Chinatown cinemas to close.
It is the only one still in working condition.

I think KILL BILL is going to be shown at midnight every Saturday Night. We have a theatre here doing that with a cut horror film (ROCKY HORROR).

ZZB should go see QT about becoming his theatre manager. You better go to the interview as Jaio Long or Oren Ishi I.

In Chinatown? I'm up for theatre manager :D I'll be dressed up as Jiao Long and I'll keep asking him to hire me, eventually he will :bigwink: I think I've passed by that theater before :hmmm:

Well, if this isn't the place to hold a Zhang Ziyi Film Festival, than I don't know what is!

He’s a deviant. Watch out for the suction kiss...the casting couch...and don’t bend over around him.

Other than those things, you’ll be fine.

That's a good idea. They should play Ziyi's films every night, unless you prefer playing all Z's films in one day?

though her mouth.

She’ll be covered with hickey marks and probably be missing a few fingers, toes, and other protrusions.

But I’m sure he’ll save her a very good seat ...waay in the back...where it’s dark.

Bweh heh heh. Parts of Z won’t return to the motherland. If I was Z...and went to that theater...I would bring the Chinese army.

Z can more than take care of herself. She's mastered the ancient Wudan technique of "kick'm where the sun don't shine", a variant of the Hidden Dragon form known to be superior to the Drunken Monkey form that Tarantino practices.

Should the seduction master try anything, she will also show him what Katanas are really used for in her latest film project - Kill Quent - the story of a nasty film director who couldn't quite keep it in his pants and ended up on the cutting room floor.

beat up a cab driver over a fare.

According to QT, he only knows cinema martial arts. Because he hasn’t got the “nine f...ing years“ to learn the real ones. “Cinema martial arts are more fun anyway. If I tried to to use them in a fight, I’d probably get my ass kicked.”

He’s absolutely right. That’s an astute observation, too. That’s one thing I like him for. I still don’t trust him, though. Z shouldn’t either.
