Don’t use cheap batteries in your cell-phone. Some of the cheaper batteries (internet) are missing safety electronics and can catch fire or explode.

EXPLODE WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO TAKE YOUR EAR OFF AND LEAVE A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD!!!!

What’s up with THAT???

It's a guaranteed upgrade feature. People are taking too long to upgrade their phones, so the battery companies will help you make a decision.

I thought this was a myth? Like the braincancer thing.

Plastic Surgeon or Verizon Sprint. What's the difference. You're gonna pay the coin of the realm to somebody, courtesy of your Nokia Model Hu Li Explod-a-phone.

yes, could be as dangerous as having a Huli.

BC, " I thought this was a myth" : to make it explode requires a deliberate modification. same as a car battery etc. and of course, the cheaper the easier.

health and safety note:
caution if you suspect someone
has tampered with "potential" explosives.

For the record, Telecom New Zealand issued a recall for a whole bunch of third-party-branded batteries for their Kyocera phones.

I don't exactly think this is a reason to ditch all cellphones - but it does pay to be careful the quality of things you buy. :-)

PS: Hi everyone. :P I'm new here. I know a couple of certain individuals already, though. :) (waves at Gaz)

Ziyi’s cellphone. It’s probably Chinese. I think the bad batteries probably come from China.

Maybe that’s what happened to her right ear.

Over here, a black-jack is a weighted leather club. Usually filled with lead shot. A black-jack is used for beat-downs. Police have them.

Also...chewing gum.

Gaz: 4 doors, a big boot, and not being able to afford the GT-T variant which woulda had tiptronics and a turbo :( I kept the performance NA engine and a 4wd driveline though ... it works. Auto = nice in AKL traffic too.

Re the BlackJack - yes... i know :P but I spell my nickname differently deliberately. (It also goes back nearly 10 years... looong story) :)

Re the Batteries - I don't know where they were made, but I wasnt going to assume it was .cn :P Might be Korea yet...
