Damn now I'll have to find and order the other two aswell. Being a fan of Z is expensive business
I'm glad to see she's keeping a balance between Asian and Hollywood productions though, now that she's such an enormous star in the latter.

Her cameo was only a minute long, you can download it here.

I have to say I am a bit dissappointed, because I really didn't care for My Wife is a Gangster 2. It was funny, I suppose, but it just isn't the comparable in quality to most of other films she's been in.

So she'll probably have more than 1 minute screentime in Gangster 3 if she's a main character?
What was Gangster 2 about? I don't remember reading anything about the movie except that Z had a cameo in it.

I won't hold my breath on this one... After the success of HOFD, HERO and Geisha .. I'm not sure too many asian producers can afford to hire Z ..
She can charge them $30,000 per minute of screen time .. plus % of back end revenue.
So if a movie is 90 minutes long and she is on every scene ..
90 x 30,000 = $2.7million salary .. plus 6.5% of back end profit.

Oh yes I'm sure she can, but the point is whether she will or not. The occasional Hollywood movie is cool of course, but I'm kinda hoping she won't abandon Asian cinema for it.

i just got a note from the Zteam regarding this.
quote "There is no truth to that "news" about Ziyi appearing in Wife is a Gangster 3 for release next year. "
However, as a gaz-guess, is that maybe the producers intend to approach the cuteone and her management team but for now it is quote "putting the cart before the horse."
for now we should transfer this thread to the rumor section
( who kmows for sure what developments there could be in future )

Every film Ziyi is in...no matter where its made...IS...Asian cinema. If it isnt in the beginning...it will be when she goes to work. Like being pregnant, cant be a little bit.
Ask monkeypeaches.

Well you know what I meant
I meant non-English productions and with her being the only star that's actually famous in the West. I dunno, I guess I just prefer that over seeing her in big budget movies with all-star casts. Selfish as it may sound, I like my friends not knowing who the hell she is lol
Ah well, I'll love anything she does.

On the bright side, I don't have to be dissappointed anymore :)

the possibilities for the cuteone in the future are limitless.
i remember when Memoirs of a geisha was merely a rumour....
hmmmm, i gotta admit, the unpredictable serves to enhance the dynamics of the Zteam as much as it does the cuteone (Z) herself.
I would love to see her in a walk n part in something like "24" or "CSI"
or maybe a music video

I'd like to see her in a sitcom

that would awesome.
the cuteone can be so funny-entertaining
i tended to think
good cook, likes music
would have been an ideal sitcom concept
rather than movie:D
but................
in my bias opinion ( of course )
should have been filmed in NewZealand

Imdb has put the movie on the site, with Z listed as cast member:

IMDB is often wrong, it's all user submitted. The updates are backlogged too, this was submitted December 17th.

The only reason I go there is to rate movies, check some message boards, and do the daily poll.

The funny thing is about a month ago I submitted Tanuki Goten, filled out all the information for it, and it still isn't posted. And she's actually in that movie. :ohman:

Someone should submit Touching Starlight. I'd do it, but I don't know enough data for them to accept it.

I think what virgule means is that when it comes to the 411 about the actress- Ziyi, Zfilms is a bit more informative than other well know media sites. Partly because of our dedicated mods.
Most sites like "IMDB" the people that run the sites are paid workers. They may or maynot be too interested about the content of their website, there just there to work and make a living.
Here in Zfilms, no one gets paid.. we don't allow advertising pop ops .. we are independently run, hence people that "work" at the site are more diligent with their research about the "actress Z", because they just truely care about the "person" without any other agenda, such as "being the best moderator" or anything like that..
and yes, people MUST know about her movies that she has truely worked on..

Basically there is a huge amount of misinformation out there regarding Z, and in this forum we filter out the rumors and get to the truth. Just in the past two months, there have been the following false reports
- Incorrectly reported as being cast in My Wife is a Gangster 3, from the Korea Times
- Incorrectly reported as performing at the CCTV New Years Gala, from Tom and Sina
- Fake nude photos published by Sina
- Fake interview from the New York Post
- Sina incorrectly referring to HelloZiyi.us as the "official US site" (duh)
That's just one month in the life of Z.

So true :agree: .. and even though it was amusing and flattering to be considered Z's official US site ... we make sure that we don't break our integrity .. we straighten out the error, and tell the truth ...
We are not a "tabloid" fan site .. and yes, there are times when we too make mistakes.. but as long as we do our best to correct it and give credit where credit is due, I believe that we will continue to be a strong website.

Just one small caveat here; not that I'm splitting hairs. Helloziyi.us is, without question, both the unofficial official US site and the official unofficial US site. Just to be clear......

What about that planned movie with her and Takeshi Kaneshiro. Was it a false report too? I would really welcome a new movie with both of them; they were such a good couple in SMMF.
