1, she will do a english-speaking movie with korean star Jang Dong-gun,the guy from "the promise", the movie will start fliming in amercia in April or May.

2,ZZ and Clive Owen has signed to star in "Shanghai",but the director
is too busy to focus on the project,so "shanghai" has been postponed

3,ZZ has been INVITED to do Chen kai ge's new movie "mei lan fang" and she is very very very interested in the role , there is a very high possibility that she will take the role.

I thought Chen Kaige had given up hope of having Ziyi signed on for his Mei Lanfang biopic for reasons such as schedule clash, casting mismatch and what not. Do you know if she has read the script already? If she is really "very, very interested" in that project, chances are Her Z-ness has found the character she is expected to portray worth working on and the script as a whole is good enough for her. As for the director, who is best known in the West for Farewell My Concubine, another story about the life of a Peking opera singer should find him equipped to do an even better job.
Talking about that Korean "superstar" Jang, isn't he also in Warrior with Ziyi? Local Chinese-language press here in HK quoted Ziyi as saying Thursday during an interview in Beijing that the movie she will star opposite Jang is some sort of a Western cowboy flick. Beijing-accented twang and Jen (Mei) in blue jeans, anyone?
Too bad Shanghai is put on hold. Maybe the studio has second thoughts about its market prospect after the disappointing B.O. takes of The Painted Veil?
