What a funny talent this girl has. But put a microphone infront of her and she’s not funny anymore. Put a microphone infront of her and she flips a switch and cranks. She has another gear. Pretty hot...when she’s singing.
Is it my imagination, or does she look like a skinny Kelly Clarkson?

A lot of people have said she's kinda robotic when she's on stage. I can sort of see what they mean.

sing’n.
She seems kinda goony when she’s just standing there. Maybe it’s the power in her voice, I dunno, something, but she handled those two ballads pretty well. It’s country, tho. Who knows.
Elvis was really country. Self taught. He could rock. Not that Underwood is a lady-Elvis or anything. I liked her songs on SNL.
Most interesting that she reminded me visually of Kelly Clarkson. Only skinnier. I liked her micro-mini with the heels, but I thought it didn’t really fit the real Carrie. Easy to see why she won Idol.

I wouldn't compare her to Kelly Clarkson but can understand why some people think they are in some way(s) similar. I'm not a fan of country music but watched a Blue Grass band play once up close back in the 1980s. Personally I don't think Underwood's style is really country, though she advertizes her southern twang all the time. And I was very upset when she "defeated" Bo Bice for the American Idol title (a vote-for-the-worse benefitiary?). She doesn't look nor sound comfortable when she sings and that makes me uncomfortable. K.C., on the other hand, is much more confident and in control on stage. Her vocal sounds better than C.U.'s, too.

I am a big Bo fan myself.

name. A name like Bob Ice would have served him better. No doubt about it, that guy could sing. He’s doing ok, isn’t he? The winner has to pay big bucks back to Idol. He won’t have that problem.
This is the new millenia, not 1955.
Isn’t Underwood from white gospel? Her voice has the power to be a torch singer, but maybe she needs to be a little more twisted. She looked kind of twisted in that micro-mini, but there’s more to it than that.
