I went to see this film last night. Why? I don’t know.
It was a better horror film than THE RING. Perhaps because the truth is always stranger and more horrifying than fiction can ever hope to be. There is nothing more brutal on this planet than human beings, and nobody more brutal to women than other women. It also follows that Irish women may have the corner on feminine brutality...and in a nun’s cloak of sweetness. I think the girls at Citybikes (who work on my bicycle,) came out of one of the Magdelena Laundries. Edgy girls who’ve seen madness and casual brutality. Maybe they’re from a girls reform school or prison. They have tattoos, piercings, colorful language, and a lanky bravado. If you go to this film...go on an empty stomach.

Having read the reviews, I'm probably not going to see this flick, only because I hate agenda films that over-simplify and castigate other groups without a balanced view. I'll be the first to admit that injustices are rampant as a small percentage of any institution, but to brand an entire Catholic religious order as a bunch of child abusers is not a story worth seeing.
"Runaway Jury" is like that, turning what is essentially an interesting judicial story premise into a naked anti-gun agenda. I don't want my entertainment dollar spent on political hystrionics designed to persuade the "truth" by lying to me that this is entertainment in the first place. I know propaganda when I smell it.
